Guest Post: Vintage Cameras

I love vintage cameras. I have a small collection of cameras that have been gifted to me or I have found in thrift stores. I like using them for display around the house but I’ve also run a roll of film through all of these that I can.

I like the time and effort that goes into producing one really great picture with analog photography. You start to get a sort of attachment to the image. It’s something that I miss in digital photography, the idea of not simply being able to undo is a beautiful yet time consuming thing. The trail and error involved in creating a perfect picture is a lot of work in the cool calm darkroom, with its particular sound and smells. Having these cameras brings back those feelings and reminds me if the the hours I spent in my college darkroom.
